University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice

In its departments, institutes and clinics, it offers a broad educational background to domestic and international students to study in accredited study programmes at all three levels of higher
education (bachelor, master and doctoral level). The University belongs among 12 European veterinary universities (out of 96 universities in total) fully approved and accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education.
The University has about 2,000 students in all of the three levels of higher education, both in full-time and part-time forms. Over 280 of these students are international students studying in English language the General Veterinary Medicine study programme. The University offers its students a high level of practical preparation, and permanent diagnostic and medical contact with animals on its clinics, university farm, special breeding centre, equestrian centre and animal, fish and bee diseases centre.

About the programme: Veterinary medicine is one of the regulated professions in Slovakia; therefore, its studies must meet the demands of the European Union guidelines and the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education. The University meets the
EU standards and diplomas awarded by the University are valid in all member states of the European Union. The programme is focused on the diagnostic, therapy and prevention of diseases of domestic, agricultural and exotic animals, food industry, pharmacy and scientific
research and environmental protection.
